I just read Steve Smith's clinic journal. It's a wonder guys like this have any good things to say after eating stale pizza and sleeping on the run. I hope this journal finally tells the story of why these guys can be a little short at clinics. I met another classic example of a drummer working at a large LA music store that ripped Weckl. I asked him why he felt that way and he said he was a #%$#% at a clinic. Give me a break! Did he expect Dave to be his best buddy? I'm sure Dave and Steve, Dennis and Vinnie get up each day at 5am and travel eight hours only to be jerks to their fans. Guys like the above might try encouraging these guys who are giving so much back to the drumming community.

Yeah maybe but who wants to deal with an a-hole? If his attitude sucks, I could care less about his supposed selfless contributions to our community.

...And don't think for one minute that Dave and these dudes aren't getting paid REAL handsomely for said clinics. Hell, the LEAST they should do is be cool to people.

Agreed. I've seen some pretty embarassing behaviour out of some big name guys. I love their playing as much as the next guy, but they need to get over themselves.
